There’s always someone new to save the day,
And Puig was last night’s hero in the end!
When down by two, we don’t just go away.
We fight like gladiators. Puig’s our friend
And hero! Though Yu’s birthday outing was
Not great, he still went six despite some pain
Inside his back. The bullpen then showed jaws
That let their bats pour on the Sox some rain.
The rally in the ninth: kicked off by Cody’s
Pinch-hit single; Logan brought him in.
Then Austin singled, giving Puig the keys
To walk it off and get another win!
Another day for this great team to rest
Before A-Gon comes back and Hill shows zest.
“I get knocked down, but I get up again”
Are words a group from Leeds sung famously.
Last night, the Dodgers refused to be slain
And we excelled by the grace of Corey!
When down by three with bases filled, to right
He swung and made a chance for Puig
To charge the plate and bring light to our night!
Such strong-fixed victor’s ways have no fatigue.
Though Ryu did not dominate so much,
The bullpen begged the question, “Where’s your bats?”
A winning season clinched with magic touch,
Historically ’twas done – God bless blue hats.
To take the series, Kenta must be strong
And try to stay in blaze of sun for long.
We’ve tired a team for the eightieth time,
And from behind we came to pull it off!
The first strike from another Cody dime,
His thirty third – it makes our rivals scoff.
Wood looked alright, but by himself he could
Not win for us; ‘Twas up to Joc and Puig.
The first man dubbed to right to tie it good,
Then Yasiel gave hell and lead was swigged!
Our bullpen (Josh and Jansen) kept at bay
The Diamondbacks’ desires to retrieve
A lead they once possessed, but we said “nay”
And were content with what we did achieve!
It is start two for Yu in his blue gear.
To victory, we hope his arm can steer!
Sometimes the game ain’t meant for us to win.
Despite our many positives last night
And a good start from Kenta, we said fin
Without the lead and failed to solve the plight.
JT went yard two times and Puig leaped high
To rob a dong, but in the end it did
Not matter, for a grand slam stained our try
To make it five straight wins – restart the bid!
The bullpen stunk unusually indeed,
But it’s just one bad game (that’s what I hope).
Today’s a new day to recite the creed
To believe in the Dodger magic’s scope!
An old friend we must face in Mister Zack,
But we’ve got Wood to strike against their pack!
Yu had me at hello, and how he pitched
In his debut was marvelous indeed!
O’er seven frames, the Mets were stuck in ditch
As Darvish dished ten K’s and shut their steed!
And in the tops, our offense rocked deGrom!
A leadoff shot from Chris T. was the first,
Then Puig hit his career-high twenty-bomb!
But done we weren’t, for when the city’s worst
Enemy, Chase, went up, he crushed to right!
Appropriate it was for many hugs
To go all around the clubhouse last night!
We beat up each team like a gang of thugs.
The man with landform surname comes today.
Rich Hill, the killer, looks to slay his prey.
Oh Kenta in your cloak – you owned the Braves!
A motivated man he was on mound,
As seen in his exquisite seven frames;
Just two hits and one walk – that’s all they found!
Our offense did enough in many ways.
We needed just three runs, and those came from
A Taylor double, Cody’s bomb buffet,
Then Puig’s baserunning adding to the sum!
Unfazed when Ravin gave up that late shot;
We put in new guy Watson, found success!
Then Kenley, just like a Superman plot,
Delivered us from evil; what a bless!
Nine straight, again, so who will go for ten?
Brock Stewart will! Here’s hoping that he can.
Where does our comeback magic emanate?
For Farmer, in his first swing, won the game
To sweep the hated ones and take eight straight!
So put that stretched-out jersey in a frame!
Both starters, Bum and Ryu, showed up strong,
Then Fields gave up a home run that untied.
But after Chase’s hustle, Puig came ‘long!
The rest you know, but there were other plays
Like Kiké throwing Crawford out at home!
The boys induce a state of Odoacer
That makes every foe fall just like Rome!
The deadline is today, and how I hope
We’ll make a move that moves us up the rope!
