18 August 2017: So many doubles hit that I lost count!

So many doubles hit that I lost count!
Our offense never stopped, no brakes to press.
A four-hit game from Taylor, what a mount
To win after a trailing; no more stress.
The runs enough to help Rich get the win
With three earned runs on his part – no big deal!
A-Gon came back real strong; we missed his grin
And saw it more than once when game was sealed!
To push us in the lead, that’s Corey’s feat.
Though bullpen gave up two, insurance saved
And comforted the fears that roam the street
Of feelings negative that we have waived.
The afternoon sees Ryu take control
To win another start – he’s on a roll!

16 August 2017: There’s always someone new to save the day!

There’s always someone new to save the day,
And Puig was last night’s hero in the end!
When down by two, we don’t just go away.
We fight like gladiators. Puig’s our friend
And hero! Though Yu’s birthday outing was
Not great, he still went six despite some pain
Inside his back. The bullpen then showed jaws
That let their bats pour on the Sox some rain.
The rally in the ninth: kicked off by Cody’s
Pinch-hit single; Logan brought him in.
Then Austin singled, giving Puig the keys
To walk it off and get another win!
Another day for this great team to rest
Before A-Gon comes back and Hill shows zest.

15 August 2017: Sometimes we wait real late to take the win

Sometimes we wait real late to take the win.
Last night, until the eighth, the game was tied.
Then five runs came! We quickly hit their shin
And said, “This is L.A., you’re on our ride.”
Wood’s only blemish was a leadoff shot
He let. Despite that, seven innings swell!
The bullpen followed; let us hitters hot
Move far ahead by hitting balls like hell!
Barnes broke it wide, then Corey did some more!
We did not need a Kenley to save game,
Since six us, them one, was the final score!
Still, no one’s able to put out our flame.
A happy birthday to our newest friend,
Yu Darvish! Pitch well! Our wishes, we send.

13 August 2017: Witness their strength, their valor, and their force!

Witness their strength, their valor, and their force!
Down first we were, but then there came a burst
Of bats that brought us back on winning course,
Forgetting runs they let back in the first.
The fourth frame gave a pillar filled with runs
Including a three-run shot from JT!
Yasmani also showed his dinger guns
To help bring fans the atmosphere of glee!
Maeda wasn’t awful, but not great.
The bullpen made sure no more runs would come.
Before the end, JT once more touched plate,
Then Kenley came to strike the Padres dumb!
Relax today, for they are off to ‘lax.
Then Wood will greet the White Sox with his acts!

12 August 2017: “I get knocked down, but I get up again”

“I get knocked down, but I get up again”
Are words a group from Leeds sung famously.
Last night, the Dodgers refused to be slain
And we excelled by the grace of Corey!
When down by three with bases filled, to right
He swung and made a chance for Puig
To charge the plate and bring light to our night!
Such strong-fixed victor’s ways have no fatigue.
Though Ryu did not dominate so much,
The bullpen begged the question, “Where’s your bats?”
A winning season clinched with magic touch,
Historically ’twas done – God bless blue hats.
To take the series, Kenta must be strong
And try to stay in blaze of sun for long.

10 August 2017: Around the team, our looks as sharp as spears

Around the team, our looks as sharp as spears
That pierce the air, just like the balls we hit
In every field. Production that brings tears
Of joy to fans keeps lifting the spirit!
Immediately, Kiké gave us lead
By clearing all the bases with a line
Drive double into left! It filled the need
To get out early and make the end fine.
Reptiles tried to rally, and got close
When Morrow let the lead decrease to two.
But we trust Kenley since he always shows
The door to those that try a clever coup!
Back home, they’ve landed to host the Padres,
So Hill will pitch to keep our winning ways!

9 August 2017: We’ve tired a team for the eightieth time

We’ve tired a team for the eightieth time,
And from behind we came to pull it off!
The first strike from another Cody dime,
His thirty third – it makes our rivals scoff.
Wood looked alright, but by himself he could
Not win for us; ‘Twas up to Joc and Puig.
The first man dubbed to right to tie it good,
Then Yasiel gave hell and lead was swigged!
Our bullpen (Josh and Jansen) kept at bay
The Diamondbacks’ desires to retrieve
A lead they once possessed, but we said “nay”
And were content with what we did achieve!
It is start two for Yu in his blue gear.
To victory, we hope his arm can steer!
