22 June 2017: Another sweep? How swell! And filled with bombs

Another sweep? How swell! And filled with bombs
The series was – this game no different,
With JT, Kiké, Joc all going long!
And Joc’s put us in front, how excellent!
Though Ryu did alright, Chris Hatcher failed
Right out the gate to keep our one-run lead.
No worries as the rest just cruised and sailed,
And Kenley came to grow the planted seed.
The Snakes have helped us keep our place in first,
Preventing Rocks from gaining any ground!
But next we face the latter – far from worst.
To be an intense series, this is bound.
Our second ace will kick it off: Sir Wood’s
In charge of making known we’re more than good.

19 June 2017: “Would you like two more bombs?” asked Bellinger

“Would you like two more bombs?” asked Bellinger.
Replied we did with “yes” and so he swung!
To right field did the shots get delivered,
So other sluggers might as well have hung
The white flag! Though our ace was not himself,
Sir Clayton did enough to hold our lead.
The bullpen back to its consistent help
Created for our closer no such need.
Sir Turner also sparked the skies with grace!
Some ribbies here and there to spice it up
Like peppers; lesser was not Taylor’s place
Whose two-for-five was sweet just like syrup.
So hot we are, so people place your bets
Tonight, since B-Mac looks to beat the Mets!

18 June 2017: ‘Twas almost blown, but Kiké saved the day

‘Twas almost blown, but Kiké saved the day
When lead was trimmed to one – he gave his all!
As Votto struck the ball much ways away,
He ran back, made the catch upon the wall!
The offense buff again, Especially
Sir Turner, who drove in three with a dong,
And Logan who rocked like it’s ’83!
They all helped sing the sweeper’s sweetest song!
Maeda did real well, but as for pen…
Reliability was not their word.
Too many runs took us fans out of zen,
But Kenley saved us with his closing curd!
At last, we’re home to take on New York’s team;
They’ll face our ace and that will make us scream!

17 June 2017: A rout supported by the park so small!

A rout supported by the park so small!
The dingers flew from many bats for us,
Sirs Cody, Puig, and Joc produced them all!
And not a sign of power-stopping rust!
Though Ryu struggled here and there, he ‘scaped
From jams with dash of luck and fighter’s will!
The Reds unveiled Pete’s statue, but we draped
That introduction with our thirst for thrill!
So many times, the Reds had chance to score,
But one-for-seventeen they were those times.
The bullpen helped to make their offense poor
By letting just three touch; silenced the chimes.
A chance to sweep is on the radar screen,
If Kenta can deliver the routine.

15 June 2017: Unpleasant days occur for every team

Unpleasant days occur for every team,
And yesterday saw one of ours unfold.
Sir Hill could not produce a strike-filled stream
And every other pitcher also rolled.
Despite a potent offense all-around,
The trouble was not at the batters’ hands
But in the center of the field: the mound,
And due to that, we were not happy fans.
The Tribe struck first real hard and never stopped,
Just running through our pen like bulls in Spain.
So in the end, our winning streak was chopped
Like onions on the counter, tears in vain.
Another series in Ohio lurks,
So down in Cincy will Wood do his work!

14 June 2017: Again, a home run in the eighth became

Again, a home run in the eighth became
The reason that we broke the late-found tie!
It was another pitcher-dominated game
Played underneath the Cleveland’s darkened sky.
As Kiké’s sword slashed Miller, we broke free
And later in that frame, their man at second
Never stepped on bag when try’n to flee
The ball to first; for that, a replay beckoned!
A double steal occurred in inning two!
But never mind, as bullpen almost fell
Until the ninth when, oh, Sir you-know-who
Produced a cutter straight from deepest hell!
The best part about waking up today
Ain’t Folgers, but an early game – hooray!

13 June 2017: In slugger Cody we have placed our trust!

In slugger Cody we have placed our trust!
Delivered us his power once again
By breaking tie in eighth with such a bust,
Then chugging up another like a train!
A below-average start by Kershaw’s rules
Was still enough to help us take the win!
The bullpen, minus Hatcher who just drools,
Was able to, when game was close, stay in!
And though two birds occurred by Puig’s strong hands,
We now have tied the Denvermen up top.
So we will keep on cheering from the stands
And hope to show that we’re cream of the crop.
Two pitchers strong will take the hills today,
McCarthy versus Kluber: what a play!
