30 June 2017: The tempers hot, but fire in our team

The tempers hot, but fire in our team
Lit up the Padres, as we usually do.
Astounding seven runs brought in by dreamy
Barnes on home runs that totaled to two.
And Wood guided his way to win nine straight
Decisions; ’tis a record for the club.
The offense besides Austin also great,
Like Logan who had four hits in the drub
And Justin hit it thrice (one of those donged).
The D-Backs lost, and so our West lead grows!
This season, as always, is quite prolonged,
But anything can happen as we know.
With baseball’s kiss, the next game goes to Hill
Who we hope replicates his last long fill.

29 June 2017: The man’s the best, what else is there to say?

The man’s the best, what else is there to say?
It’s just another Kershaw start to us
But to the league it signals no hooray
From batters who can’t seem to find a plus.
No trouble did our offense have last night
As Joc, Chase, Puig all found the outfield seats!
A Dodger record set for monthly home run height
Which caused a lot of H-R’s on the sheets!
The series ends up split, no worse than loss
And Kenley found a chance to get a save.
But we’ve continued to show who is boss
While riding such a swelling tidal wave!
The fathers of the south host the next three,
And Wood will hit the Padres off the tee.

28 June 2017: The wreck was bad; we threw away the game

The wreck was bad; we threw away the game
On such a flust’ring error-laden play.
A strikeout ending in a blue-stained shame
When right before, our hopes were up and way.
Yasmani hit that bomb with just one strike
To give before we fell, but tragically
The effort fell just like a flattened bike
And every wish we had crashed rapidly.
Though Trayce unveiled what he could do for us
By driving one real high during the eighth,
And Ryu did a swell job with no fuss,
Our team fell to an undesired fate.
The only hope this series is to draw,
And that seems likely when we’ve got Kershaw.

27 June 2017: Our thanks to Kenta’s swell return to form!

Our thanks to Kenta’s swell return to form!
Those seven scoreless innings did the trick
In shocking angels like a thunderstorm,
Reminding who is head of Cali’s clique.
The only numbers put upon the board
Came in the six’s bottom, courtesy
Of Cody’s scoring single, then we scored
Some more when Joc went yard! A cup of tea
The rest of the game was. Let’s not forget
A play that Kiké made while fielding short:
He dived, then from his knees, threw out the threat!
Delivered was the ball when in his court.
To Anaheim we go at Ryu’s reign;
I feel a victory upon the plane.

26 June 2017: Looks like eleven straight will not be won

Looks like eleven straight will not be won,
But every splendid run must come to pass.
Nolasco shocked and did not let a run
Somehow, for five hits was all from our bats.
The silver lining comes in Rich’s length,
Remaining on the mound for seven rounds!
Encouraging it is to see that strength
Despite the loss; the game was not all frowns.
The offense caused frustration right away
By loading up the bases, then not going
Through with putting the ball into play,
Preventing us from winning the day’s show.
Let’s start another streak and show our might
Supporting Kenta’s start on high tonight!

25 June 2017: A perfect ten! Oh what a streak we’re on!

A perfect ten! Oh what a streak we’re on!
Achieved by sweeping team named after peaks.
And crazy was the game; control was gone!
So many wild pitches from the meeks.
It’s just another day for Cody B,
Departing the yard twice – ’twas no big deal.
His domination’s such a thrill to see,
Along with a face that makes ladies squeal.
McCarthy got the yips – we wish him well,
The bullpen did a fine job after him.
And Kenley hit a double – what the hell?!
For Colorado, that must have been grim.
The rivalry connected by the 5
Begins today! Rich Hill vs. Angels – live!

24 June 2017: Oh nine, so fine! We’re rolling like a stone

Oh nine, so fine! We’re rolling like a stone,
But uphill is our climb – no stopping us!
It’s such a treat to lay back in our throne
Without having to witness any fuss!
Six frames did Clayton go – no runs allowed,
Despite the sticky jams he got into.
His confidence made sure there was no cloud
To hover over such a coming through!
A knock from Joc assisted in the quest,
And so did Clayton’s bases loaded walk!
Grandal and Kiké’s singles also blessed
The score, and in the end we upped our stock!
A sweep lurks in the crystal ball today,
McCarthy’s on the hill – do good, I pray.
