13 Apr 2017: Although we got on base a lot, we failed

Although we got on base a lot, we failed
To move three sixty feet and make a score.
While Ryu wasn’t awful, some balls scaled
The wall; the Cubs’ run total climbed to four.
The Wrigley defense took away some hits
From Corey twice, although he mustered one
Against our old friend Brett, who put on ritz
To block our efforts to achieve a run.
Our batters chased and saw our chances bob,
As they walked back in shame, a curs’ed gloom.
Our bullpen, yet again, has done their job
And halted any further furry boom.
Tonight, at Clayton’s hand, we strike the heels
Of serpents from the desert; sound the peals!
